Family Game Night

Our go-to for surefire family game night fun is Uno and just like the game, we’re giving gluten the SKIP and adding a WILD card to the mix. Tonights menu includes: deliciously crispy and spicy wings with [cottage cheese!] ranch dip, a crunchy, fresh dippable green salad that the whole family will enjoy and for dessert: maple walnut blondies with homemade ice cream. Feast with us on Feinberg Family Game Night!

In the middle of the desert, a refreshing, cold drink is a must. An easy way to always have something ready is to cold brew your tea. You can make “tea concentrates” by filling a container with filtered water and a few of your favorite tea bags. Let it steep either on the counter at room temp or in the fridge for at least 10-12 hours. The best part is that cold brewing naturally releases some of the sweeter properties of tea so sweetening is not always necessary. We used a black tea with cardamom and added some orange juice and homemade mint/honey simple syrup.

Wings are just the best finger food but so often, there is gluten involved in the making of them. Our method uses the air-fryer for thawing and cooking plain, frozen wings that are then glazed with finger-licking-good chili-honey-lime sauce. They crisp up well and and will leave you wanting more! For the dip, we used a Tik Tok hack with cottage cheese and it was so yummy! The best part is that it’s low-fat and high-protein so it’s great fuel for growing athletes like Hunter.

How do you get the kids to eat a salad? Turn it into a dip! This dippable salad was inspired by Baked By Melissa’s green goddess salad. Using cabbage, cucumber, jalapeno, snap peas and green onions or chives, this salad is dressed in a green tahini ranch dressing made with cottage cheese (again!), herbs, tahini, lemon and McCormick’s GF Ranch Mix.

Our boys, Hunter and Charlie, love sweets and these maple walnut bars really hit the spot. We bumped the whole thing up a notch for game night and made a coconut ice cream to go with it. Drizzled with melted strawberry jam and voila! blondie sundaes!
